Random but always wanted to do a humidor cabinet for cigars. Any knowledge on draw sizes and arrangements?
What type or size are you wanting to make? Desk top? End table? Walk in? Following along on this thread, thanks
Glad to see someone shares the same interest. I haven’t considered the size but in my head I picture a small cupboard for 8 or so boxes and maybe a draw for loose ones
That’s about an end table size. I have a Reliance 1000 that I love and can share the dimensions on if that would help. Any thoughts on using Humi-packs or going whole hog with an electronic humidifier?
That’s a nice bit of kit, just been on their website. The dimensions would be nice. Then I guess the 500 would be half the size. Does it have a ventilation gap at the back. Haven’t really thought about the system just been thinking of the aesthetics I’ve never seen a humidor other than once in Belgium when I went in to a cigar shop. I want t do a detail on it somewhere that is dry Tobacco leaves in epoxy for their texture and you only notice it on close inspection as I will make my wood similar colour
It’s 24" deep, 18" wide and 26" tall. There are ventilation slots in the bottom of the drawer. Felt seal around the door and drawer. With the door and drawer closed, the unit is sealed to help maintain the humidity. With a cabinet this size, an electronic humidifier works great! Set it and forget it. When it gets low on water a little led red light comes on and you just add some more distilled water. As soon as I can get my Christmas push done I want to make a couple 100 stick desktop boxes. I like the idea of the leaves in epoxy! I’m no expert, but anything I can help you with don’t hesitate.
