Aspire was used to create this “Michigan Central Station” train model.
Beautifully done!
What scale is it?
And my kinda shop… Organized chaos!
Pony
Scale went out the window when my friend who I built it for said he wanted the trains to go through the building. The real train station has them in back of the building. I had to deal with his train track centers and height and width of his trains
I tried to count the number of windows doors and features and build them in.
It measures 24" wide and 27" long and 24" tall. The lights are controlled by Infra red and Wifi. It was a fun project that took a week to build and paint.
Very impressive! Can you elaborate more on its construction and material used?
Was it built floor-by-floor, that is did you carve 2D “slices” (like a 3D printer) and stack/glue them together? Or did you carve the walls like when making any other box structure (drawers, cabinets, etc.)?
The material used is 1x Pine. With plywood you don’t know how good the laminations are.
The construction is where you make pieces or plates and glue and screw together. See examples.
Most features are pockets with the brick lines made with profile and a taper bit cutting 0.06" deep.
The tricky parts is the front, back and top roof’s.
The external lights are discrete led bulbs and load resistors to change from 12v dc to 3.1v.
There is also inside the building roll led lights that have adhesive backing. Amazon has then for under $15.
Wow!! Great work! And, yeah, I like your shop tidiness too. Good to know I’m not alone in having small to medium messes here and there.
I have to many projects to stop and clean it up. I just keep rolling from one to another.
indeed beautifulllll
