Vcarve says 2+ hrs. Machine says almost 4 hrs. I have been running it for the past 2 hours and it’s definitely gonna be almost 4 hrs. Any ideas?
Your estimate is shown in inches per sec and the machine runs at inches per min.
I did notice that. The others were less time. Pocket was 5ish minutes and profile 6ish minutes. Wouldn’t those be higher times on the machine too. Originally it was under mm/sec, picture was after changing it to in/sec but there was like a minute change if any. What I didn’t do was close the program and try again with the change. I’ll try that.
Could it be the scale factor 2? Maybe that should be 1.
Maybe. I’ll try that
Cesar,
The tool path estimates in Aspire use the scale factor to compensate for the actual time. The estimates for individual toolpaths plus the overall machining time of all visible toolpaths are calculated using the user defined Rapid Rate moves and Scale Factor. You should adjust the scale factor in Aspire so that the estimate is close to the actual time needed to cut.

So I started messing with the Scale number. This is the closest number I could get. However the others double in time.
I usually try to keep the scale factor to a number that is close to the actual V-Carve time. What I find is that when I do that the profile estimated time is not accurate. The aspire help file indicates that you may need to use more then one scale factor depending on the type of tool path.
When I need to know what the actual time will take I usually load it in the onefinity as the estimate on the machine seems to be accurate.
