ATC - combined auto and manual tool change

Hoping someone can answer my question. I asked the same question when the atc software was in beta buy did not get an answer, So I wanted for the official version (1.5.9) and still not sure what to do. The issue is:

I have some bits that just do not physically fit in the tool changer so they have to be loaded manual. During the execution of the toolpaths how do I switch from an bit that is loaded from the tool changer and manually load the new bit. For example:

  • program start
    • load tool #1
    • unload tool #1
    • load tool #3
    • unload tool #3
    • Manually load tool (not in the tool holder)
    • Manually unload tool
    • load tool #4
  • program end

I believe that the MASSO handles this correctly, but I am using the redline controller

Any help will be greatly apricated

you can go watch Mitz Pellicciotta’s youtube how to setup ATC and Manual. it’s very helpful especially with the Mannual Tool change #5. Maybe do the same as his. Hope that helps answering your questions. Athough I am not familiar with the Redlines.

Thanks James, I have watched Mitz’s video, but it is for the MASSO and the redline controller is a totally different. Hopefully there will be a manual/video soon for the rapid change ATC with the redline controller

Just run it. If it’s a tool number that isn’t assigned to an atc slot, it will move to the ‘manual tool change’ position and ask you to change it.

The Masso DOES NOT solve this problem. Been waiting for this feature for a while.
