Yes. When I put it in manual it works as expected, spindle turns as adjusted. The control screen even registers the speed as I speed it up and down.
But when I take it off manual, and send commands through the control page. They don’t seem to go through.
Interestingly, the control page thinks the commands have gone through and starts to count down time and % complete starts to add up.
I’m doing something wrong with how I’m sending the commands, I guess.
The only other suggestion I have would be to update firmware I am on 1.6.1 and have no issues. I wish you luck and hope someone else has a solution. Also, you can check on the page where you selected RedLine spindle that your min and max speeds are set correctly. Mine are 6000min and 24000max.
I got in touch with Redline support. Too much to write here. Highly recommend reaching out to them support@redlinecnc.com. They were very responsive. I don’t have a solution yet, but they are sending out a new spindle and I will diagnose the issues when it gets here. Most of the issues I resolved by doing a factory reset as described on page 47 of the redline spindle manual here: onefinitycnc.com/_files/ugd/1cee9f_3ea23b39e5054a17a127dbf3bdc2cc86.pdf
The one remaining issue started after I did the factory reset which is that the spindle won’t stop in manual or automatic mode when I push the stop/reset button or when I hit the stop button in the MDI interface. Only when I click the digital emergency stop on the Onefinity (BB) control UI will it stop.
So, I’m just figuring it out still. Sorry I’m not much help. The folks at redline are very helpful and responsive, so reach out to them. They should be able to get you to working quick.
Resolution:
First of all, thanks to Onefinity and Redline for spectacular support. I’ll just leave it right there. They went above and beyond. Thanks folks. Great support.
In the end, the issue was with the VDF. I don’t know what the issue was, but Redline sent out an entire new kit and I switched out the spindle, then the control, then the VDF. When I switched out the VDF, all worked correctly. Bottom line, it wasn’t something I would have been able to resolve (I don’t think) with a factory reset (Tried multiple times) or a changed setting. Redline support worked closely with me and now I’m up and running with the spindle with no issues.
