Buildbotics controller shutting off when launching program (solved, mistakenly plugged into switched outlet)

Good day,

I have the following:

X-50 woodworker with BB controller running V1.6.6 firmware, Vectric VCarve Pro software for toolpath generation, PwnCNC Spindle correctly wired and working for almost a year now, using a Windows computer connected to BB controller via ethernet and using the web interface. Nothing of this setup has changed in a while.

The issue I’m having is this…

I worked up some simple toolpaths for a flag carve. I probed the unit, as usual, and all was well. I uploaded the file via ethernet from my computer and hit Run. The spindle started spooling up, as normal. The “hit continue once spindle reaches desired speed” prompt comes up on the screen.

The BB controller powers off. The spindle continues to run, since the signal to stop isn’t sent, so I have to power the VFD down.

I repower the BB controller and everything comes back up as normal with no error messages or anything.

This has happened about 6 times now and I get the same issue.

Again, nothing of my setup has changed. Could this be an issue with the tool path?

Hello Jeremiah,

Could it be that the screen is shutting down and not the controller? That happens often when the power connections to the screen have some trouble and the vibration from the starting of the program shake the screen.

Is this only happening on that particular file?

I’m big dumb. I figured out the issue. I, strangely, changed the power from the original receptacle on the IOT power strip to a different one and that was the issue. Thank you all for the help, but it was all me. LOL
