Carving Alignment

I have an Elite CNC with a Masso Controller. I use my touch pad to determine the X, Y and Z. However, when the machine starts to carve is is carving to the upper right (about 2 inches off) from where I am expecting it to carve. What could be causing this misalignment?

Is Z correct, and by upper right you mean diagonally about 2" from your Work Coordinate System zero?
Is this your first time using it?

Sounds like the origin position in the CAM software isnt right.

Are you homing the machine first to set the machine coordinates before then going to set the project home position?

First step when firing up your machine should always be homing the machine so it knows how to calculate every subsequent position.

Then fasten your project material down and set x/y/z for the project matching your CAD software’s project origin (lower left corner, center, upper right, etc).

Did you setup your touch probe size (probe offsets)? When the bit touches the touch probe, it needs to know how far it is from the corner of the material where you placed the probe. To calculate this, it needs the probe offsets and the probe/bit diameter (for the bit offset).
