Connecting a Laptop Through the IP address

I’ve been trying to enter my machines IP address on my laptop to access and it’s not working. I believe the problem is with the firewall in my anti-virus software but I’ve try turning it off with no luck. Has anybody else had this issue and figured out a way around it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks In Advance,
Greg

Can you “ping” the CNC’s IP address from the laptop?

I just tried it and it didn’t seem to do anything

What is the IP of the 1F and the IP of the laptop? Hopefully, they are on the same subnet and on the same router.

They’re definitely on the same router. I have no idea how to check if they’re on the same subnet. I can connect on my phone and my wife’s laptop which are also on the same router. My laptop is the only one with McAfee. I messaged them. Just waiting for a response. I’m wondering if McAfee is a bigger problem than it’s worth. They serm to have fewer settings options than they use to.

Can you ping your wife’s laptop? If not, try turning off McAfee while you test the connection to the 1F. Also, trying pinging your wife’s laptop while McAfee is down.

If you open a command prompt and type ipconfig and hit enter it will show you the ip address details. The subnet mask will be listed with something like 255.255.255.0. And your wife’s laptop subnet mask should be the same if they are the same subnet

If you are not using a fixed IP address on the controller and it is obtaining an IP address from your router, then there is connectivity. I can’t think of a reason why antivirus is blocking communication but the suggestion to temporarily turn that off is worth trying.

If you are not using a fixed IP address, there is a chance when you powered on, you received a different IP address then the last time. Probably not likely but double check on your controller what IP address it has.

Can you log into your wireless as admin and look at which devices show connected to the network, I have a masso controller and i can see it listed as device ESP-XXYYZZ where xx yy and zz are the last 3 entries of the mac address of the masso. I recall seeing the masso MAC address on network setting screen.

What are you app are you using to talk to your controller?

Thanks for all the help everyone. I did try a lot of those suggestions previously with no luck. My nephew is coming over tomorrow to try and sort it out.
Thanks again. It’s much appreciated.
