If your message says you are connected to WiFi and no ip address check to see if your router requires you to add a reservation for the MAC address (Hardware address). If you assign an ip address in DHCP to the MAC address then it will get the IP address you chose. If you can type a dos command of ipconfig it will return an ip address. If this starts with 169 then it is not talking to any other device on you network. I.e the ip address will be 169.x.xx format if it it an IP v4 address. Hope this helps
