a way to add cutter compensation to the controller so that it can adjust in case your bit measures bigger or smaller than the ideal tool

I think it would be best to do this in your CAM program, no?
All that said, if your end mill is not the advertised size, I would buy a better end mill ![]()

I agree this would work better for my work flow. you can use nominal sizes in your CAD/CAM and adjust for actual real world measurements of your tools at the machine.
