For the two smaller machines there are nice complete dimensions, but they are missing for the Foreman. I would like to build my “table” before assembling the machine.
Images shown are directly from the manual. Yes I know they say they are not necessarily perfect. I can plan around “some” adjustment.
No, I do not want to buy the company legs and spoil board frame. They will not suit my application.
As you can see the information for the Foreman is not as detailed as for the smaller machines. Page 20 of the manual does show a GROSS over all dimension for the Foreman, but it does not show the same level of detail as the smaller machines. I’ve downloaded the manual three times now. Twice in the last ten minutes. The picture I already posted is the picture from the manual.
Well, hopefully somebody has more information I can find later, but I’ve spent the spare time I had today. I need to get into the machine room and get some paying jobs qued up on the milling machines.
Roger Walters (Not Onefinity*) had a good answer on the Facebook group.
Pull the dimensions from the QCW data.
Thank you Roger.
Onefinity on Facebook had the same response I saw elsewhere. Basically (paraphrasing and extrapolating) build an oversize (62 x 62) table and let the parts fall where they may. Then they linked to the manual page 20 where the picture I already posted came from.
Again, thank you Roger. You nailed it. (Close enough.)
What about the overall size of the machine? I’m waiting for my machine to arrive and I’m trying to get started on a table, which will evolve into an enclosure. Whats the overall dimensions with an 80mm spindle all the way forward?
We also have a search function. You will find much with “table” and “dimensions”, and you should consider that the foreman size can be deduced from the Journeyman and Woodworker sizes. Foreman (1200 x 1200 mm) is a Journeyman with one X-50 rail and two Y-50 raills. Journeyman (1200 x 800 mm) is X-50 and two Y-35 rails. Woodworker (800 x 800 mm) is either one X-50 or one X-35 rail and two Y-35 rails.
I did. It shows the dimensions for the machine bed. But it doesn’t show any illustrations with the gantry all the way forward and elaborate whether or not the 80mm spindle protrudes beyond the actual displayed footprint of the machine.
