I am thinking of buying an elite series cnc and intend to build my own bench. I am tight for space and so I need a drawing for all 3 sizes. Ive managed to find the foreman size but I think this may be too big. The “manual tab” above does not give any information. Can anyone help?
I can tell you that the journeyman size requires 72 wide by 48 deep that’s x by y unless you are going to put everything under your table and i mean everything. here is what my table looks like with and without the jourenyman mounted.
as you can see my shop too is crowded the area that has the level on it is where i put the vfd and power for the spindle and controller.and that middle part is my vertical holdig area that is usually covered
Thanks for info. The journeyman might work for me. Ive got a ooznest UK machine at the moment with a bench of the same size on 4 casters. When I move the bench it goes out of level which means I have to reskim the spoil board.( did not take into account what effect moving the bench would have)I intend to build a new bench probably on 3 castors (with a couple of stabilizers), with the top section being a plywood box construction.
You have cutout in your bench, is this for encrease in Z height
no it i for vertical holding so i can use it for true dovetail joints using jointcam sofware. you can see more of the whys and wherefores if you look up “ my table with vertical holding”
ah got you, no curvy corners, good idea
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a G2 Journeyman on order with the tool changer…curious your thoughts and experience on the tool changer I see on your machine?
Thanks,
Erik
I have not had the best experience with my rapid change ATC automatic tool changer. due to what the company said was a bad batch of sensors now corrected. The jury is still out on this part of my CNC experience update to follow in a few months.
we now have them up here Spec Sheets for Gen 2 Elite Series Models
