Does the redline controller already support a camera feed, I see it thought the network that there is a camera feed tab, If so what camera can be used?

Hi Mark,
Most USB webcams should work. If you run into any problems shoot me a message with the model number of the camera.
James
looking to add a camera, does this plug into the controller or is it a network IP camera? can you give us an example of a known working camera and what resolution it can handle?
Are there mounts available for a camera?
Most USB webcams should work. The camera support is pretty basic at the moment. I would probably start with an inexpensive 1080P camera. A 4K camera should also work, but it may bog down the network a bit when streaming.
The RTCNC software currently caps the streaming frame rate to 15 fps to keep things on the conservative side for the webserver and the client. Also note that the controller connects to the first available camera. Multiple cameras are not supported at the moment.
An example of a known working camera would be great. I tried hooking one up the other day and got nothing.
I have tried two cameras I had sitting around that I’ve used connected to a Raspberry PI on other projects. Neither worked. Tried plugging in while device is working, and having it plugged in when turning on. Web page for the camera shows no camera connected icon.

I use an IP camera…does not require or go through the controller. It’s mounted on a dowel and clamped to the edge of my work table. Camera does pan and tilt…no zoom. I made a mount that allows me to slide the camera up and down the dowel to change the camera’s perspective. All I have to do is put the IP address into a browser and it starts streaming.
It does, but you might need to use a powered usb hub for it when using with a Redline HMI as higher resolutions may require more power than the HMI can produce for the USB ports and cause some odd behavior (like touch screen being ‘off’.
logitech brio 101 1080p works!
Awesome! Are you using a powered usb hub?
i am not,. just straight into the port
Some cameras we tried (logi brio) require a powered hub as we’ve seen some oddities where the touch get’s thrown off (camera pulling to much power from HMI pi).
humm ill keep an eye out, havent down a whole lot with it yet
