Dual Rapid Change ATC link and masso wiring

I have a RapidChange ATC connected to a Masso Elite and I need to connect a second one to get 8 tools. Onefinity manual has good instructions on how to link 2 ATC together and how to wire and set up 1 ATC to Masso controller, but misses informations on how to set up 2 ATC on Masso. Have anyone already connected 2 RapidChange Easy ATC to Elite Masso and can guide me on it, please? Do I need an extra auxiliary cable on Masso other than the 3 already installed for the first ATC? What extra configurations are needed on Masso setup pages? I hope in near future Onefinity make available an ATC upgrade option for a second ATC with better price and clear upgrade instructions.

Part of it is documented and part of it isn’t. Start off by following the instructions provided by Onefinity for linking the units together. Then you’ll need to add an extra Aux wire in Masso. I believe for the 1 ATC setup the documentation has you connect Aux wires 3, 4, 5 to inputs 3,4,5 respectively. For 2x ATCs you’ll need to add a 4th wire to connect Input 6 to Aux 6. Then in the Masso F1 screen when you setup the inputs and outputs as described by the Onefinity instruction manual you’ll need to configure a extra input and output for the new Aux 6 wire you added.

That should be all…except for the fact that the I found it near impossible to get all 8 pockets to pick up and drop off tools because the Rapidchange requires very precise X Y pocket coordinates. Since you only enter the 1st pocket in the Web UI and it calculates the rest, the fact that there is a greater travel distance between pocket 1 and 5-8, if these don’t pick up there’s not much you can do because the Web UI doesn’t let you manually override pocket coordinates. I had asked Don if this could be added….maybe it has since then but at the time i was doing this it wasn’t available so i had to switch to the Masso native configuration instead of web ui and subroutines in order to get all 8 pockets working. I’ve since moved on from the Rapidchange to a different ATC so perhaps this is no longer the case but unfortunately i can’t check and just going by memory.

Good luck.

Thank you pwsusi for passing your knowledge on that. I was already thinking about se tting it up as pe Masso native and after all that will probably be the way I will go.

That is not documented either…there’s another thread on here if you decide to go that path. In that case you won’t need any of the Aux wires and will need to change your input 7 to toolchanger in Masso
