ATC question is it possible to use two ATC tool changers at a time with the masso 3G touch controller? I would love to have more than 4 tools to use on some complex jobs. I see in the pictures that they have two 4 bangers lined up on an onefinity machine. Would the price be double? or is there some kind of savings when getting a V8 .
I wanted more than 4 pockets as well and ended up going with the 8 pocket direct from Rapidchange, less money for 8 than 4 from 1F.

what is the downside? just not "supported by " onfinity/?
Yes as far as I know they will not support it but I can tell you Rapidchange (Don) is very attentive and helpful, you do have to be a little more DIY for his but it is pretty straight forward. Also as far as a dust boot is concerned, pretty sure the 1F dust boot will not work with the Rapidchange ATC, I went with the Autodust boot. by Francis , not sure of the total contact but can get it for you if interested. His dust boot is nice but pretty finicky related to height of ATC and Z Slider location and such, his is very easy to install and use.
I installed an aftermarket cheap Chinese VFD and Spindle as well ( works great by the way ) also no support form 1F on it either,
Anyway my 2 cents worth.
Thanks, Pat
Can you clarify this? It looks like you’re saying it’s pretty finicky but also very easy to use? Those sound contradictory
ok it is official I got word from onefinity that you can daisy chain more than one rapid change ATC’s to get more tools mounted. (I wanted at least 8) I am happy to hear it they will be announcing this soon. great news!
Sorry for the confusion, two different things, the setup is a little finicky, the dust boot only has so much vertical travel, in able to machine very thin pieces directly on my spoil board the brush of the dust boot has to go down almost to the level of the spoil board and visa versa it has to go high enough to clear the tool detection beam in the ATC, I had to remove the spoil board where the ATC was mounted in order for the ATC to be low enough for the brushes not to activate the tool detection, once I had this sorted out all is good. Regarding the operation it is very easy to set, you turn the knob on top to lower the boot to desired height, then tap the button twice and that level is set, a single push of the button and the boot either goes all the way up or down to the pre set height, installing is very easy with regard to wiring, three wires, one to batt + one to ground and on my machine one wire to output 18 on the G3 which is flood coolant. Install of the boot onto the machine takes about 5 minutes, so very convenient to install.
The one thing I haven’t really checked out is the dust collection ability, I have done a few small jobs and it works great, need to really put it to work on a messy job and see , I will be doing this in the couple of days.
Hope this is more clear.
Thanks, pat
@HardtailSr
Did you get an answer about the cost for adding a second set of 4?
Early on I asked this question and it was you basically buy two of them so double the price which is why I went direct with Rapidchange ATC I get double for less cost than one.
