I assembled my Elite Journeyman + QCW Frame From Below, Folding Rolling frame Legs + stiffy + eventual ATC when it arrives. I’m trying to cut the waste board but I realize it takes 5 x 8 3/4 width MDF sheets but has no rooms for the ends. I’m not sure if I assembled it correctly, or am looking at the wrong diagram.
Similar to this guide on page 26 (it looks like the 2 outside boards are longer)
I recently built my Journeyman with QCW on fixed legs. My two outside boards are 9 7/8", and the three inside are 8 3/4" wide. I have no narrow strips on either side. When I surfaced with a 1" bit, it came up ~1/8 short on either side board, so the gantry could never reach the side strips anyhow. Warning: I’m a new guy, and probably shouldn’t be giving advice yet, but wanted to try to help.
I just got my Journeyman and my boards I cut are all the same length, I saw the small boards on either side which I didn’t bother with since it’s basically under the rails. I’m guessing it’s up to you if you really want them but they would be completely supported on both sides anyway so I’m not going to add them .
I’m not sure if were mixing length and width. All mine are the same length. Should be 42.35 but I cut them 41.5 I think as I was looking at the wrong diagram earlier, not a big deal because I think the ATC will eat up that room anyway.
For Width
The outside boards are both 10 inches wide. 8 3/4 for the middle 3. Your outside boards look a little wider but maybe the camera?
