Holy cow. I did it. I was shocked only by how much the shipping was nearly 500 dollars! wow. but I think I will now have the best unit i could get for the money. then again i thought that when I bought the x50 journeyman too. I went all new as the difference with just the upgrade was not enough to make a real difference to me. now begins the all too familiar waiting for UPS to arrive …12 weeks later yikes.

I’m in the UK and the shipping was $650, and then taxes and customs import fees was another £300, so expensive. However, two years in nearly and I don’t regret a thing.

don’t get me wrong I can love the machine but still hate the cost lol. and besides you’re across an ocean I am only a few hundred miles away by truck.

I wonder if 1F insures the package, adding insurance greatly increases the shipping cost depending on the amount of coverage.

$345 to ship from Ontario to Florida seemed fully reasonable to me considering the size and weight of the packages.

That’s a question for UPS. I would imagine proximity to a hub and number of routes in your area has something to do with it. Perhaps it costs them more to operate in some states than others also? Also some states charge tax on shipping and others don’t. That could be it too. Fuel surcharges from the shipper will vary by location as well.
I wouldn’t call out Onefinity on it at this point, they have promised to not let us get hit with a tariff, which would be WAY more than shipping.

I meant no offence to Onefinity. I simply was not thinking before I posted that. I realized why mine is so much more. LOL. I bought a ton of stuff. new elite journeyman, new stiffy, revolution 4th axis, and 220 80mm spindle.
So yeah, that’s why. That is a lot of weight and probably quite a few boxes as well.

I felt a bit silly when i realized hell yeah more boxes more money. kind like when you realize why that really expensive bit you broke was something simple you forgot to do.

Yeah, that I have not done YET. But I do know the feeling.
I cut it twice, and it’s still too short.
