First project didnt prompt tool change

I need help with Vcarve Pro/ user error?

I am running my first project on JourneymanGen 2. I have two tool paths, 3D roughing with 1/4 endmill and 3D finishing with 1/8 ballnose. I exported the toolpaths (VCarve PRo) as “Visible Toolpaths to one file”. Started project, roughing went fine but when it finished the roughing path it did NOT prompt for a tool change to the 1/8 endmill. The spindle turned off, it returned to origin, but then just started up right away and proceeded with the finishing path. What did I do wrong?

I do see that my machine says there is no tool loaded. Did I need to do something there?

You have to select select manual tool change in the settings of the contoller. It’s most likely set to ignore from the factory
