Hello.
Newbie here and thanks for the add on the forum. I saved a visible toolpath using vcarve 12 pro to one file and need to do a tool change… My question is can i do a tool change by touching of the z height only with the touch probe?
Thanks
If your question relates to a change in the middle of the toolpath, yes you can just re-zero the new bit in zero and continue. Depending on how the software outputs it may be better to output them as separate files one for each type of bit to avoid any possibility of it missing the tool change or not letting you re-zero the z before it goes back to cutting.
Not sure which machine you have, if you have the elite with the tool setter then the Masso will do the z re-zero automatically once the tool change is complete before returning to the program. If the buildbotics you’ll have to do the zero manually.
Hello and thanks for the response. It’s an elite 4x4 bed. Yes it’s in the middle of a file and it has no tool setter it stopped after the first tool ended then ask to press start and load the same tool in it.
Thanks.
Is the file asking you to load the same tool or a different one?
It was saying to load the same tool.
Seems like something in vcarve. But you should be able to just press start without actually changing the tool or zeroing it and have it carry on.
