Foreman Elite, new in July 2024 "Y motor alarm" (solved, magnet stuck )

I purchased a Foreman Elite on June 13, 2024, and it was delivered on July 12, 2024. It has worked well; however, I got a “Y motor alarm” this afternoon. I have been using the machine for the past few days with no problems. I checked everything, and both Y motors were flashing a red alarm light. I unplugged and reinstalled all of the connections. I powered up again, and it threw a B motor alarm. I rechecked everything and powered up again. It’s now throwing another Y motor alaem. But now, only the left Y motor is flashing an alarm light.

I have another motor that I pulled off the Z slider when I upgraded to a brake motor. I’m in the middle of swapping out the motors, and I assume it will work, but I won’t know until I finish assembling the whole left side of the machine. I’m hoping that it will. If it does, will they send me a replacement motor under warranty? I would hope so.

Check the cables. Sometimes the pins get pushed in enough to make a crappy connection.

I figured it out.

I couldn’t see it because it’s black, but the magnet from my probe got down in between the carriage and the frame and was just big enough to stop the carriage from moving all the way. Only a few millimeters, but enough to cause the alarm. I took a very close look, spotted it, removed it, and it works fine.
