Hopefully sooner than later, Vetric is about to release a laser add on.
Happy to help when I can. I don’t consider myself an expert (my dad always said an expert is just a bull shitter away from home). This being my first CNC router, and learning new software (currently trying out Carveco Maker), I may be the one asking for help!
I was in Lamar then Erie, I retired in 2013 and still live in Erie.

Hi all. Steve here. Add one more to the South Carolina crew! Located in Clover and work (or used to, as the case may be) in film as a Welder/Propmaker/Electrician. I do a lot of metal fab and sculpture now having moved on from building motorcycles as a hobby. I’m lucky to have had this down time to spend some quality time in the wood shop and looking forward to my first CNC machine in the shop. There seems to be a lot of knowledgable folks gathering here, so definitely looking forward to learning from you all . . . and trying not to be a PITA
I’m 49 Did structural engineering, before that i was a sawer. (Big saws type Smart sets and Cyber saw from Mitek) fluent in Mitek software and some cad. and Eframe. Disabled now. So i tinker with 3d printing, (I own 5 3d printers) and fusion 360 looking to expand my materiel base. This is going to be my first personal CNC. looking to start off with wood and once i learn what to use when i will move to aluminum is the game plan anyway…

Crazy Casey here. I live right outside St. Louis and I’m a full time proud union steelworker. I operate a crane and I’m an assistant griever (shop steward). I love my job!
Unfortunately the steel industry runs in cycles and in 2015 I was laid off for almost 2.5 years. After being called back, I invested in a Shapeoko Xxl in May of 2019. My goal was to have a little side business for next time the steel industry faces a down turn. I have a fiancé who I’m blessed to get to marry in March of next year and I have 2 beautiful little girls.
I follow @MyersWoodshop and was interested in @OnefinityCNC as soon as Ben shared it. I love the suck it dust boot and have been swamped in orders so made the jump and made Onefinity my 2nd cnc. Today my J tech laser finally came in. I plan to run that on my XXL and use Onefinity for sign making. I’ve only worked with wood and MDF so far. Looking to catch up on orders and try new things. My Onefinity will be here in November. Can’t wait to see this group work together and have some fun!!
I have a Glowforge. I bought the GF plus. I love it.
There isn’t any way to upgrade to the cooling system the GF pro has is there?
I live in Arizona and the heat limits when I can use my machine
All you can do is control the air that surrounds it. Several people have built boxes to funnel air from a air-conditioning unit.
