How small of a font can JTech 44w laser do?

Howdy folks!
Just curious if anyone has done a test run for engraving (marking) really small fonts using the 44w JT laser on wood. I don’t want to trade in my 7w if I’ll loose the ability to do this due to the beam size. I’m talking about roughly 6 point, cursive or sans serif, and still very readable.

Thanks!

Here are some pages from the 44W vs the 7W.
It looks like it will vary slightly per material, and they don’t give specific measurements on the kerf, but the numbers they give for the spot size on the 44W appear to be the same as the spot size on the 7W.

Yeah I saw that and talked to them (really good people). Would be nice if someone actually done this a little and had a comment. Thanks!

It will depend on the material… 8pt on cherry works well. A metallic surface will probably do a bit smaller. Also if it is raster vs drawn will matter as raster will be harder to keep sharp edges

Thank you!! Now I’m embarrassed to say I’m thinking about a RF 30w CO2 laser instead.
