I got the notice (Machine on it's way)

Does anyone know why that happens? UPS did the same thing to me when I first got my machine. All boxes shipped together and remained together throughout their entire journey…. until the final delivery to my house. Then, for some reason, UPS split them in half. 1st half delivered one day and the 2nd half delivered the 2nd day. It’s like UPS has a limit on how many boxes can be delivered to your house in a single delivery or something.

It has to do with what they can fit on the truck. The large boxes from Onefinity have to go in the center isle of the truck and the driver has to work around them until they get to your stop. I asked my driver once on a large item being shipped to me in multiple boxes and this was his answer.

Maybe that’s why they come all smashed to hell, trying to make them smaller lol. I emailed 1F just so they would have documentation in case there was any damage. My suggestion to them was to add handle inserts or cutouts to the large boxes.

The boxes from onefinity especially the gen two x rail, is what UPS calls “overweights” I know this because my son works in a ups hub. That is probably why it costs about 500 dollars to ship these babies. and no I do not get any special treatment lol. I pay through the nose like everyone else.

If you look close you can see the problem.

Them there red Eye-Talian Fru-geely stickers! That means beat the hell out of my boxes in the language of love and lasagna.

All joking aside, I appreciate that 1F tries, or anyone who tries to warn the shippers for that matter, but it’s like the folks in the shipping chain go, Fragile? Challenge ACCEPTED!

I unloaded for UPS my last few years in High School. Was a pretty tough job. The focus was on movement not finesse. A hub is a pretty intimidating place to walk into the for the first time. I’m sure it’s a bit different now than 20 something years ago, but I’m guessing not much. Its a meat grinder.

my son has been doing it for nearly 20 years so he knows all the stories. just from my own experience with shippers “if it can be thrown It will be thrown.”

I received my batch 2 order last week. Also in two separate deliveries with boxes beat to hell. Still sitting in my living room as I too am behind on preparing a home for it.

life does get in the way sometimes. I am still working on my table as well. Admittedly it is slower going with the complexity of my 4th axis lifting mechanism but still life has a way of slowing things down at times.

I hope to build a similar table someday as I too have a 4th axis. This will be my first experience with a cnc but I have been looking into it for years.

Hopefully mounting the 4th axis to the QCW table will be good enough for starting out. I guess we’ll see. :clinking_beer_mugs:

The world’s smallest cnc lab… hopefully more progress tonight. Have to say mechanically super easy and was able to do this all in about 3 hours. Need to add the z and electronics.
