I am sorry if this answered somewhere, because I looked and didn’t see it.
Do you make the purchase at full price and then the price is discounted later? If I am paying sale tax on whole amount vs discounted amount is the difference also applied?
And again apologies if this is spelled out somewhere. I did look but didn’t see it anywhere.
I have a Woodworker and want to upgrade the Z. In order to sign up for IPP, I need an order number. To get that you have to buy, and I am ready to. I am just curious where and how the discount is applied.
My question in regard to this is that, What is the actual discount through the IPP if you have to send back the old stuff and yet paying for the new stuff at listed price on checkout? I just dont get where the discount is.For example, I have the woodworker X3, to upgrade to Elite through IPP is $2100 (with z-20). The whole machine with spindle, tool setter, touch probe, and suckit Dust Boot as bonus is curently $3775! The math aint mathing to me, unless i’m dull here. Please kindly clarify.
Because, at the end of the day, in addition to the original price i paid for the machine which is $2159 (not including shipping and tax), the total with the upgrade is $4259! So how is this program a savings when I still have to return the old stuff?
For me it was the fact I could incrementally upgrade for less than the purchase of new and dealing with selling the old. After upgrade the price came in about equal all in. If I recall the ipp pricing was cheaper than the upgrade kit pricing. The step to an elite is significant change and one that for the price may be better off buying new selling old. Remember that the elite deal (that ends soon) has that price lower as well. For me the main value add was in not having to sell mine but I only went from woodworker to journeyman.
@Hermsen.BJ Your situation involved changing class (woodworker to Journeyman) and I am not sure how much an advantage that may have over someone just upgrading same class (woodworker standard to elite). However, just like you said, it evens out, and yet, the old stuff has to be returned. Monetizing the hazzle of not selling the old stuff as opposed to returning it is subject to opinion and debate.
