I have the same issue. (Brand new user here…) I can switch modes every time I start it up but I want to know if there is a way to get it to STAY THAT WAY when I start using it again. Have you figured it out?
I wanted a wireless pad so I bought the Logitech F710 that 1F recommended. It seemed pointless to me to instead buy some plain-wrap Chinese version in order to save ten bucks on an expensive machine. The F710 works great.
Using the F710, when you turn it off and back on again do you have to cycle through it to get to the correct “mode” for use? Or does that model stay in the correct mode.
I have the wireless one that they sent me with my purchase. However, I have to cycle through it by holding the button down for 10 sec (x2) and then after 10 minutes of idle time I have to do the same thing. A mess to say the least.
Thanks Barry!
The F710 doesn’t have an on/off switch as far as I know. it does “fall asleep” after a few minutes, though. I wake it up by hitting the horizontal lock button
im trying to figure out the right way to connect the f710 to a new redline but there are no directions on what buttons to push and how to connect other than try moving the usb dongle until it connects. I had it in the config one time and could test the buttons but it stopped working so ive been randomly trying to get the f710 joypad working support says they dont support this joypad. Sometimes i have a green light beside the mode button but nothing is working for me. Do you know what mode the f710 has to be in to connect to other controllers? at a loss as to how to connect it but at one time it appeared to work and not sure why it wont now. is there a special sequence of keys one needs to use to get it working. I previously had an xbox controller from OneFinity on my buildbotics an it had four lights at top center that you had to push until the lights were on the top quadrant to make it function properly. I sent it off with my old woodworker so cant try that. thanks
The f710 isn’t tested with the redline controller so it may or may not work.
Only the joypad that we sell is verified to work.
Go to config and choose joypad tab. It shows what buttons do what.
yes i know you dont support it but i had it connected at one point and the buttons were allowing me to move the machine. i was trying to see if others could just tell me about the sequence of buttons to use as there were some folks using the logitech controller. I ve attempted to get it to detect on the joypad config screen. Do you have a contact at Redline that can tell you what is built in to their controller as i believe it works with other cnc vendors.
Just the joypad we sell.
At thaw bottom of that page shows you what the buttons do.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting until it works
i have the controller that i bought from onefinity when i got the original woodworker. Now that i have upgraded to the redline. It wont connect. Ive removed the dongle like 20 times, and it never recognizes it.
Send a video to support@onefinitycnc.com
Will do. Thank you as always
Just curious if you were able to get the f710 to work?
I quit trying and found a seller on eBay that has the same model OF sells I bought it because the shipping to Hawaii is as much as the joypad. I’ll try it again now that I’m on the 1.3.8 beta. By the way the Xbox was detected immediately. Since I had the f710 show as detected at one point I gotta believe it’s gonna work. I’ll try and let you know.
Thanks, figured it would be plug and play but will send it back.
