Let's move the Masso!

I have a dust boot on my spindle and the Masso gets in the way when the spindle homes.

Has anyone used a regular computer monitor desk mount similar to this (Amazon.com: MOUNTUP Single Monitor Desk Mount, Adjustable Gas Spring Monitor Arm Support Max 32 Inch, 4.4-17.6lbs Screen, Computer Monitor Stand Holder with Clamp/Grommet Mounting Base, VESA Mount Bracket, Black : Electronics) to move the Masso away from the machine?

Thanks. What kind? Any problems mounting it? If you did it over, anything you’d do differently?

I have done this. I will try to get a pic or two showing the set up I used, later today after work. Unless I can find something on my phone already. Been using it for almost a year now and no issues.

Barry, I’ve used this one Amazon.com since day 1 with the BB controller, and the Masso mounts to it fantastic. As far as mounting goes, I mounted it through a hole in my table and it’s very secure and only in the way if I place it there - which I rarely do. I can get you pics if you’d like.

Eric

PS. Monoprice.com has some nice monitor mounts also…

When I built my table, I did not allow for the space necessary, so my installation was a little tight. If I did it again, I would make a larger table to leave more space. But I got it installed OK and it works great.
Making a large table larger is tough without a reason.
Here is the one I got . .

There’s another option that I have purchased and resolves this issue. Its from Ugly Dog Workshop

I took the Onefinity Masso monitor mount that came with my Elite Foreman and screwed it to a block of 2x4. I moved the Masso G3 display around until I was happy with its location. I screwed the 2x4 to the table and used it for about 1 month to be sure that the position was what I wanted. I then got a local fabricator to bend a piece of 3/16" aluminum plate into an L shape and replaced the 2x4 with the aluminum L. The aluminum L is not as flexible as using a monitor mount for moving the monitor during use but it was cheaper and more rigid.

I’m surprised onefinity hasn’t addressed this. It’s a simple issue to fix.

The Ugly Dog setup works great and a cheap solution.

You can turn the Masso 90 degrees toward you so the controls are accessible while you use the jogging controls.

You can also set the Masso about a foot out so it clears all of the spindle and boot issues.
