I finally figured out how to upload the video. this is for my gen 2 machine. I am hoping the adjustability will increase my ability to do various things it will also preclude having to install and uninstall the unit. Moving equipment like this is not easy for me anymore. Also when not in use I simply press a button and with two screws I can be back to a regular t track enabled table for carving signs etcetera. the 4th axis will stay under the table somewhat protected from dust, dirt and the vagaries of the shop.
Nice!
Did you get the lift with the linear actuator or did you modify it to add one?
Do you plan to pin it at the top or is it stable enough on the stand to not need that?
it will actually snug up to the frame and that should be enough to stabilize it. If not I will rig something. This is just the first iteration. I am sure it will be modified as I go along. the table came complete; nothing added except to mount the 4th axis to it. I used Unistrut.
After checking a bit more tonight I realized that the lift snugging up to the bottom of that 4x4 frame makes the thing rock solid. I couldn’t shake it with both arms and all my weight. so that is one problem I will not have to solve.
Impressive! Now that took some thought!
Dang, Robert! That’s the slickest 4th axis design I’ve seen anywhere! Fantastic idea!!

@HardtailSr I agree with Marty. You deserve a 3rd machine when the next generation comes out! ![]()
