where exactly are the oil ports on the elite series is it just the screw inline with the ball screws? what is shown in the maintenance videos and instructions for the older machines dosent align with the elites
You have to take out the screw\bolt on the side of the ball nut using a 4mm hex wrench\allen key. They aren’t 90 degrees to the side of the nut, but at a very slight angle. You should see them. They are quite short when removed. If they are long bolts, you have removed the wrong ones.
These are not the bolts holding the ball nut to the X\Y\B\Z carriage. These bolts are used for removing the ball nut from the carriage for deeper cleaning and maintenance. There are videos on this.
Once removed this should then allow you access to the oil port which is essentially the hole created when the bolt is removed. The machine still operates with these bolts removed, allowing you to add oil, jog the machine along, add more oil, and do the same, until the whole screw is lubricated. Once done replace the bolts. Only use 3 in 1 oil or silicone lubricant, never use WD40.
