New to Onefinity cnc . Wanted to try to cut 6 inch circle and after probing for XYZ and starting router, router only moves to point of origin and plunges 1/2" but will not proceed to cutting circle.
Any help would be much appreciated.
What software?
Is it showing any error codes?
Do you have your post processor selected?
Using Carveco Maker and I do not see any error codes.
I selected Oneinfinty Elite as processor.
Hi Anita - as Jeff mention, we need more details.
Which machine? Seems like one of the Elite models?
Which controller? So, Masso then?
If you can post your file that would be better. Plunging 1/2" is not optimal, even if that is what you told the machine to do. I recommend a depth of cut no greater than the diameter of the bit, 1/2 the diameter is safer in most cases.
@John - the gcode should specify metric or imperial, but I get the “stabbing in the dark” idea
-Tom
The machine is a Pro Journeyman. Controller is the Onefinity controller.
So after I zero the machine on the workpiece and hit start, the router just goes to the point of origin and slowly moves down on the workpiece 1/2".
Here are a few pictures from the screen
You are selecting the wrong post processor when exporting gcode from Carveco Maker.
If you notice from your header of your gcode it says ‘masso post processor’, however, you do not have a Elite Series with masso controller, you have a Original/Pro Series with bb buildbotics controller.
It seems you are not choosing the correct post processor when exporting from Carveco.
Please select either:
Onefinity bb inch
or
Onefinity bb mm
Onefinity Elite is for Elite systems with Masso controllers and does not apply to your system.
Agree with support leader – wrong post processor. However, what possible difference would that make in the gcode for something this simple?
Looks like the gcode is absolute positioning with imperial units.
First cut seems to be -0.313" from +0.2" which is good for a 0.25" end mill - that’s ~50% the diameter, but cutting at 160ipm is a little aggressive IMHO.
Though the y position is 0, which is a little odd for a circle cut. What is your origin set to?

Got it to work. First try the circle was not in the centre of the work piece but I did manage to cut it out of the centre of the work piece on a later attempt.
Thank you very much for your help.
Info was much appreciated.
