I did some test engravings yesterday with mu JTech 44watt laser.
As the picture shows , I get al lot of serrated edges. Might this be a mechanical problem or is it something else?
I am having the exact same issue with my 24W, which all started after upgrading from Jouneyman Original to Jouneyman Elite. See post Laser engraving jittery curves - Accessories / J Tech Laser - Onefinity CNC Forum. I haven’t had time yet but I will be doing some tests this weekend as suggested. I hope you find a solution that may also help me.
Hey Gijs, it looks like the issue is with your x-axis. Depending on where the test start point is on each cube, you can determine if the issue happens when the machine travel right or left. Since the bottom lines are straight, it shows the issues is only when the machine travels the opposite side. I wonder if you can define the start point in Lightburn , like you can in V-Carve and do tests lasering lines. I haven’t had the chance to run my tests yet. I hope some experts on here can help. I also wonder if the issue is from a possible lose wiper (the white piece at the end of the ball screw…)
