However regarding the OS, if it’s a device that connects to a network, and the OS offers regular upgrades, it would be good to follow the upgrades (which neither Buildbotics nor Onefinity does) to avoid that older security issues remain unclosed. This would not require exchanging any hardware. I would suggest to the original poster to do exactly this.
