Elite foreman 4x4 with water cooled spindle. Install was even easier than the instruction video.
This is what I did, your experience may be different.
- Unlugged power cords
- Removed the cover and plugs
- Did not remove the spindle just shimmed the z axis up to get the coupler to align with new motor coupler.
- Had the new motor just sitting loose with its half of the coupler tightened on the motor shaft so I could see the alignment needed until it aligned.
- Did not remove z axis half of the coupler. Double checked the coupler engagement depth with the motor in place then tighten up the motor mounting screws.
Brake works great.
One thing I noticed is the cover mounting screws on the new motor are black and the old motor is silver. That should speed up the Z axis at least 20 percent…
