I’m trying to create a surfacing toolpath to cut .025" on a 15X15 project. my area size is 19X16. When i try to run a toolpath i get a pop up notice that desktop only allows max area of 25X25. What’s wrong???
It’s probably how you’re setting your project zero or home (which is different from your machine’s home). Make sure where you’re homing the the project matches what you told the software (VCarve, Carveco, etc) the project’s origin is.
For example, if you set the project origin in the center but you use the probing block to set x/y zero to the lower left, the machine will think you’re trying to machine outside the machine’s boundary to the left and front because you told it the lower left corner of the machine equaled the center of your project.
Also, very that your units (imperial vs metric) are the same for the machine, the project file & the post processor so you’re not off by a factor of 25.
homing and setting zero for work origin is usually to blame I had it happen to me. I wanted to check the tool path by cutting air so I set the probe up with a spacer under it and told it that was zero. I then ran the toolpath and it looked good so I re-probed and tried to run the toolpath and all of a sudden, it told me I was trying to cut out of bounds, turns out I had set my spindled too high and it could not reach the work area I lowered my spindle and re-probed and everything when well.
