Toolpath warning (cutting out of bounds)

I keep getting this toolpath warning. Says I’m trying to cut outside the Z limits. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Very frustrating weekend. Can anyone help?

Had a similar issues and I noticed in vcarve a starting point below the material. I believe I solved this issue in material setup verifying the z location.

This faq will help!

Your file is trying to move the z 40.965 and 30.343mm outside where it can reach.

It looks like you are forcing the tool to go to 38.870 instead of finding it”s own z in post.

30.343+8.57=38.870

I had a similar issue that stumped me for a few minutes the first time I worked with some really thick material. My default Safe Z Height in VCarve was too large, trying to move the Z axis up beyond MCS Z0.

I know it wasn’t the issue here, but it was the first thing I thought of. Thought I throw it out there to save someone a few minutes in the future.

I think that checking safe z height is great advise. Also check where you machine zero in the software is set to (to the top of the table or to the top of the material) most people use top of material. One thing that take a bit to grasp is that you have your machine coordinates and then you have your coordinates in reference to your material after you zero. Your safe z height is added above your material zero. So if you have 6.5" of z stroke on your z axis and you have 4" of material and a safe z height of 3 " your machine will alarm out.
