What Cam software and scanner just curious.
Pat
I have had a few scanners over the time so I don’t remember. I would use Creality Raptor pro for this kind of project.
Deskproto is a very affordable software that works just amazing for indexed 4 axis. Totally undervalued.
VCarve can not handle this.
Thanks for the info, I have the CR Scan Lizard and looked into Deskproto but have not pulled the trigger, not sure I want to learn another cam program.
Thanks again
Pat
It’s definitely a few hours to learn. Only worth it if you are looking into indexed 4 axis.
I totally regret now that I bought and learned VCarve.
I should have started with Deskproto from the beginning. It is superior in so many ways.
Maybe they are not so good at marketing, but software is so much better. I constantly hit the limits of VCarve.
Marketing is everything in the world today, I will look further into it, I looked at it to machine chess pieces, Vectric as you know will not machine the Knight correctly.
Thanks,
PAt
Very nice design, what software did you use?
I use vcarve pro 12.0 im a old school machinist, never worked with wood until a couple years ago when i bought my x50, wood is kinda fun
He did use the term engineer. Most of the stupid stuff we attribute to engineers were actually the result of committees and bean counters, not real engineers. Remember the camel was a horse designed by a committee.
Nice, I just play around on my 1F 32 x 32 on the weekends. Try to make things my wife or other family members would like. Justifies my time out in the barn😊. I have only worked with the Easel program. Nicely done!
My onefinity has been good for me, sold a couple crib boards to coworkers , mostly make and give away to friends and family
squib,
Those are some beautiful double sided carvings. How are you getting the curved contours in VCarve Pro?
Dirkus
I use the moulding toolpath, model what i want using an eclipse adjusted for depth and width trimming off all but 1/4 of it, that gives me the curved bottom. Top was done same way except anvles a line across the eclipse and made the top at an angle.
Angles across the eclipse, fat finger typing…lol
Just made this lidded box as a graduation present for a niece…
I’ve only had my 1F for a few months, but it has really opened up some neat possibilities to expand on my traditional woodworking…
I had the day off and had several different projects to be done. The 1F was going to be unused for a bit so what is a man to do? Do something you have always wanted to do. You print a 7x25 crocodile. To make a little more expressive throw in a Crocodile Hunter (Steve Irwin) quote.
Was a wood suplier and they had a little piece of this purple wood so i decided to finally make my daughter a plaque. Just a vcarve and so 3d clip art.
