Project starting in wrong place after Tool setter and probe setup

First the specifics of my controller, software and machine: I am using a Redline Controller on a Onefinity Journeyman with a 2.2kw 80mm spindle (220v), using CarveCoMakerPlus, and have had no issues with manually creating items, although the start point there may also be slightly off, I was using oversized stock so it didn’t matter on my first half dozen projects.) I set up the tool setter and probe as per videos. I even used AI to assist, suggesting my metric versus imperial had a mismatch somewhere, then saying check the Gcode is G54 (it is) and after all the trouble shooting it still starts elsewhere than where I show it starting on the model setup and probe setup (both bottom left). I bought the ATC tool changer and want to use it, which will require these in working order. I also am tired of manually setting the Z axis after a tool change and having to do two files, one roughing and one finishing for the manual method.

I watched official Onefinity videos, reset them up multiple times, exactly following videos, manuals, multiple respected YouTubers and everything else before coming here.

There has to be a tab, setting, etc i am missing. AI keeps giving me instructions that appear to be for Masso. I have Redline.

Thanks in advance to all who bother to try to assist. NOTE: IF you are anywhere near South Houston, (15 miles N of Galveston) and want to come try to help, there is a steak, baked potato and beverage of choice (fine Bourbon? Scotch? Beer?) and I am willing to pay time and travel.

My first thought is when your tool change is done do you call up your work location again before it does it work. So when doing tool changes it basically change your work location so in your program you should make sure you call out your “G code” work zero. Like G54 or what ever you are using as your work zero location.

So I make sure my G location code is called out at the begining of my program and when I start using my ATC I will place it after a tool change just to make sure it knows were my work zero location is at. A little example of a program below.

I hoped this will help the problem but I am note sure why your machine is not finding its work location, other than it doesn’t know were it is at after a tool change.

Cheers

Joe

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the time you took to provide the details. It does have the G54 zero at the beginning, but I am not sure about before the tool change. Today I eliminated the tool setter and just used the probe. It still starts bottom left of the corner. I have the corner as the starting place in the material, the paths, and anywhere you can tell it. I know there is something simple on both that error and the Tool Setter not setting properly.

Thanks again.

Jim

I believe that another post solved the issue in the setup of the tool setter setting
Maybe you have a similar issue

Thanks Ken, that isn’t it but I appreciate you sharing. I am reading through the other suggestions given to him and maybe one of those is the omitted step (no doubt all it is)!
Jim

My issue was that the 3D rendering was not showing correctly after loading a file. The part of the tool setter setup I accidentally skipped giving me the issues was the z calculation (the one without the bit installed). Once I did that step everything worked. If you watched the video I doubt you skipped that part as it was in there. But I hope this helpsand you are able to get yours up and running!

Another thing to check is where you are setting up your starting point in your software versus where you are setting your working zero
