Pwn spindle reverse for ATC

I just installed the wiring for the OneFinity/RapidChange ATC with a PWN VFD spindle. The spindle will not run in reverse. I have the “taped” white wire connected to spindle control pin 7 per instructions. Any ideas? I have a ticket open with PWN as well.

Did you change the settings?

Configuring VFD, I’ve noticed forward option and reverse option. I’ve disabled reverse, since bits are designed to always spin forward, right? I’ll be working with woods and some plastics, and maybe rarely soft metals. Am I missing something about going in reverse with the spindle?

According to PWN their default setup supports reverse. You just need to attach the taped white wire to the spindle control pin 7.

The power out for CCW is pin 3. Why does the ATC instructions say to attach the taped-off white wire to pin 7 on Spindle Control to enable CCW spindle rotation?
Does the taped off blue wire need to connect to pin 3?

The white wire in pin 7 is for one of the OPTO Couplers for the Motor Direction that controls CCW spin. The TTL outputs in pins 2 and 3 are limited to 3.3 Volts where the OPTOs for 6 and 7 are 24v for better communication and a stronger signal. We never used the TTL output, so that’s why pin 3 is not connected and probably why we never caught this before. Pins 2 and 3 can both be connected or disconnected, it will not make a difference either way.

Pin 4 and 5 are clockwise, 6 and 7 are counter clockwise.

They should all be 0v when not on, 24v when on.
