I’ve yet to receive my new Gen 2 Foreman with heavy duty leg stand but am curious if anyone has addressed portability of it as a unit?
My shop is small and requires the 1F is placed against a wall (probably not uncommon). I don’t intend to move my machine as a general rule but can see there may be times it would be helpful when servicing it or near by equipment. Because of the the Foreman’s size I would think individual lift casters would not apply well due to restricted access to the rear so I am looking for advice from others who may have solved this potential problem.
I think it’s “a you can’t make it do all things” scenario
That’s why you will find on this forum so many custom built tables
Many fold vertically for storage, mine is stationary but the top slides back to access the rotary No casters to reduce movement
Have a look at some of the custom designs ( Jim Hatch has a good one)
Thanks for your reply. I kind of figure the same as it is just so very large. I built a folding table on casters for my current original X-35 but even it is a bit cumbersome what with the added drawer cabinet.
I was just hoping someone had already successfully solved my perceived problem that I could lunch off of. I’ve toyed with trying to make some kind of “lift cart” that could be stationed under the cross members as a possibility. I’d mark the floor location so the 1F could replaced accurately. A bit hair brained for sure but at least it is a thought.
