RapidChange ATC - Solo

Has anyone tried the RapidChange on a OneFinity CNC?

I was thinking of getting one to help with bit changes, but not committing to the full linear unit.

Does onefinity support the solo?

From experience the simplest answer I suspect is no, as far as official troubleshooting. setup, etc.

As far as will it work, I spoke to Don and he said they are currently finalizing the WebUI support for it for Masso and Buildbotics. So it seems it would work in a similar way in that macros would be generated for Buildbotics controllers, and subroutines generated for Masso controllers. I believe he said Masso would still require a few internal IO connections.

I am not sure if/how it would work if you were wanting to add a Solo (or more) to an existing Onefinity Easy ATC setup.

Any more info on if @Onefinity plans to support this for Redline controller? Or if RapidChange has got support for Redline yet?

I will say I just got mine today for my gen 1 Masso and will be setting it up tomorrow.

I have it installed and setup. I havent tried it in a job yet but I have switched between tools using it a number of times. Most of the folks I have seem to have it running much faster. I think that’s because the way its implemented in Masso uses the spin up and spin down wait times. This adds 6 seconds and 5 seconds (in my settings) to every load and unload. I am working to get it to the shortest I can while not bogging down at the start of an actual cut job. I might do a more through write up as the RapidChange docs didnt detail out everything. For example the best I can tell there is a 30 tool limit even though the docs say you can use tools 1-99.

Overall I like it even with its limitations (like tool count). It lets me help teach some kids (<10y/o) to use the CNC as normally I wouldn’t trust their ability to tighten or loosen the collet enough.
