Redline Spindle DRO Readout Error

I just set my Redline 65MM spindle and I’m working on the break-in procedure. The digital read out isn’t showing the same RPM as I have set up in the G Code.
G Code RPM DRO RPM 6000 5987 9000 8968 12000 11958 18000 17937 24000 23916

Any thoughts on why it’s doing it and how to fix it?

I appreciate your input.

That is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

There is another post where someone explained it quite well but it has something to do with the differences between the spindle being controlled by an analog signal (frequency) and sending the control signal to the driver digitally, so defined by whole numbers/integers, if that makes sense.

No harm if the spindle runs a couple hundred RPM different than your set points in software, at least in my experience so far.

Also, holy smokes your numbers are much closer than mine, but I’ve still never had any issues.

That’s good to know, It’s probably just my brain being annoyed by the numbers not matching LOL.

Thank you for the reply.

LOL, I hear that.

Definitely one of those things that will make certain people’s brains itch.

I’m one too, eventually I got used to it, and since everything has worked well enough I rarely look at the DRO, though it’s nice to have up there as a double check.

If you set 16K and are only getting 12K on the DRO, I’d think a situation like that would be a cause for concern.
