Redline Spindle & Masso Controller

In the video setup for the Redline Spindle, it shows putting a separate controller panel on the side of the Masso controller and hooking the Ethernet and another connection into that. And doing that works fine … push ‘on’ and the spindle starts, move the dial and the RPMs change.

However when I plug in my vacuum and put in a job expecting the Masso to automatically turn on dust collection and the spindle motor … that doesn’t happen. My guess is b/c nothing is running to the Masso, it’s all running to this smaller controller.

What am I missing, if the OneFinity installation video told me to do the installation this way? How do I get the Masso to control the Spindle, and enable auto on/off as well as RPM changes?

And separately … not sure what I’m missing on the automatic dust collection on/off functionality either.

On the side of that small controller there is a switch for manual operation. Do you have that clicked “green” if so that will stop the Masso from controlling the spindle. Otherwise there is a small cable running from the bottom of the Masso controller to the VFD that controls the spindle.

One thing i have learned recently is that the onefinity videos do not tell you everything you need to know. they assume you know things they take for granted. simple things like how to run a cable with big plugs through a drag chain. you have to take the chain off the machine and pry apart that last link to install the power cord if you are using a router. I don’t have my spindle yet so I am not sure what I will have to do for that yet. I know it seems simple but if you have never dealt with these things before well, you don’t know what you don’t know, and they ain’t telling because they assume you do.
