SeaDek, anyone tried it?

Hey everybody hope you’re still loving your machine! I’m wondering if anyone has ever tried to machine EVA foam like SeaDek on your OF. I’m considering trying it but the recommended bits were like $500! I’m hoping someone has cut this foam and can give me some tooling advice. Thanks in advance!!

Interesting. At $500 a bit I would try Scrap testing using regular bits.

If feels like foam-like cutting approach will work. I would try a single flute, foam cutting, down Cut but with conventional cutting rather than climb. The bit needs to be super sharp and not used for anything else.

You will then need to play with feeds and speeds, Depth and stepover to get the best finish.

Blue tape and glue work holding

It will be interesting to hear how it goes.
