I discovered that an Ethernet cable connection between my Wifi enabled PC and the CNC connects Wifi to the CNC. That is I see the IP address shown on my CNC monitor.
Now back at my Laptop I can enter the IP address of my CNC and it will launch an identical CNC Control screen.
Seeing my CNC Control screen on my PC allows me to load my carve files that are saved on my PC.
Now when I return to my CNC Control screen the carve file is sitting there ready to run.
Yes you can control your CNC from your remote computer; which is a definite safety concern if your remote computer is not in close proximity to your CNC machine.
Sounds like you bridged the wifi adpater and your ethernet adapter on your PC, did you do that intentionally? If not, nice work. I just thought I would offer up why this is likely working in case others want to try this solution. You’re basically using your PC which has a wifi connection to your router, and a wired connection to your CNC, and a bridge device, giving network access through it.
