Stripes when clearing area

Hi, when I use 1/4 up-cut bit to clear area I get strips on my material. How do I fix this? Or is this normal?

Try to decrease your step over in your tool data base. If you are are 20 change it to 10. (Just an example)

I found it best to make a second tool path for a good finish. lets say for a .500 pocket. The first tool path is for roughing it out to .495 and the second with 5% step over to .500.

You can do that with the Last Path feature in Vetric.

Those marks are normal. It can be improved with cutter choice, feeds and speeds, and practice. Most people rely on some good 'ol fasion sanding to get rid of it.

If you have not “trammed” your machine, you should consider doing that. A machine that is out of tram might have excessive milling marks (stripes).
