People are asking for longer Y rails, if 1F replaced the lower round rail with an SBR rail, the Y axis could become 8 or 10 ft long with minimal changes. SBR rails are available in up to 50MM diameter. Years ago built a machine using an 8 ft lead screw with no problem, the biggest tooling change would be to the lower aluminum bearing housing.
