Surprise Again! Can't use the new spindle

So my spindle came in. Guess what? you don’t get the dust boot with the spindle. I am just guessing but I think you get it with the ATC. So, while we wait yet again for something we ordered yet are still waiting for, I now after installing my brandy new spindle cannot use it due to no dust boot. I think if you have ordered the spindle and the ATC and therefore the dust boot, It should come with the damned spindle, don’t you? I wish I had known all this when I ordered all these things.
Oh, minor point but the white wire to make your spindle go counterclockwise is not wrapped with black electrical tape It has a blue shrink-wrapped type end and is in the main trunkline centered in the Masso case. Oh and do not attach the VFD manual control o the case until you are done going inside the case for wiring and stuff because you cannot open the case with the VFD manual control attached. I am going to change that somehow. Removing 6 screws to open the case is a bit much.

I’ve been saying this for months on this forum and to Onefinity. Dust boots aren’t really optional - I choose not to use my machine inside my house without a dust boot so I can’t use my machine and will not pay for another dust boot. They are plastic parts and should have shipped out a long time ago

amen preach it brother!

I agree this is some kinda bullsh&t. Why not just ship the damned thing with the spindle if you already paid for the ATC it is supposed to support. It is paid for, so ship it already. I can wait for the
ATC but not for the dust boot. And NO I am not willing to spend another big chunk of money on what will fast become a redundant dust boot when I already paid for it and you have them in freaking stock now.

Well support got back to me just a few minutes ago and they forwarded to the order dept my request for shipping of my dust boot. Hopefully they will send it out soon. It should have gone out automatically since they shipped the machine and then the spindle. It is only logical I would need the dust boot in order to run. Does anyone really run a machine with no dust extraction running at all? Sounds like a good way to poor health.

On a more positive note, thank you onefinity for supplying the link to 5.10 update I updated just a few minutes ago and it worked perfectly. the spindle is installed and is going both cw and ccw. and my pendant is working perfectly also. butt I do have a question. When I click the button to make the spindle go it only turns very slowly unless I put the DRO on manual. Is it because there is no program loaded?

I did not order an ATC. My dust boot was included in the CNC shipment.

The free dust boot that comes with atc purchases before may 1st gets sent with the atc that made them qualify to get it free.

I was looking for your follow-up on the Masso forum…happy you got help.

May I ask what was done in order for you to get the download working, and why you were experiencing difficulty using your email?

So Onefinity you think it is ok to make people wait to be able to use their machine even when they ordered all the right stuff? You have the dust boots so just wake up and ship it so that people can use their machine now, not have it sit for another month. According to your lead times you are still only up to the 5100’s on the ATC’s so that is what, another month maybe two? That is bulls%^t. Think about it. Hell, I will pay for the shipping. Order#5400’s.

tm toronto; i never did get any help from Masso. Even after writing to them directly. but onefinity came to the rescue and supplied the needed link. I downloaded it and updated my masso journeyman today and it all worked perfectly. Now all I need is a dust boot. I guess they think that since they are giving it to me gratis, they can take their sweet time shipping it whenever the Blank they want to. I love and hate this company in equal measure sometimes.

Correct, the promotional dust boot ships with the item attached to the promotion.

You can carve without a dust boot. Just vacuum up after each carve to get up the dust.

WOW! That is the most callous reply I have ever received from onefinity. Unbelievable.

Thanks for that.
Mine has been delayed so now i know before I start.

No worries robert. We’ll make an exception for you!

glad to be of help mr krag

I purchased my Masso G3 for my own machine many years ago - before Elites - and made my own MyWorkshop account. Perhaps it is different for those who purchase through Onefinity. They make mention in the forum to contact them @info if you do not have access to your account, so happy to see that the process worked.

Well folks it is solved. It took a few emails back and forth but in the end I am now a fully-fledged and activated Masso owner. LOL thanks to Onefinity and Peter @ Masso

This is even whinier than the Facebook group. Removing 6 screws is a bit much on a machine you assemble yourself?!

My free promotional item that ships with the purchased promotional item didn’t arrive with the machine and the company notified me of this but I still complain? Really?

I bought my machine and knew there was a lead time. You did too, and that different items have different lead times.
