Hi folks,
Wouldn’t the metal threaded inserts placed in the junctures of a grid pattern interfer with the cutting of a router bit? Placing the inserts (like the 100 I just bought) in the grid pattern seemed like the way to g.
Thanks, Mark

Countersink them generously. If your spoilboard is MDF, I would recommend threading them in with epoxy glue.

I install my inserts from the back in 3/4" MDF or plywood. I then use a 1/2" sacrificial MDF board with the same grid pattern on top. That way I never cut into the insert board.

Mike and Rich,
Thanks for your feedback. Right now I’m thinking of setting up a pattern of inserts for each individual job so that the hold downs will do their job but surrounding inserts won’t get in the way. I appreciate your suggestions and will keep them in mind as I move forward.
