Securing Spoil Board to MDF Table Top

I am worried about keeping the table top in good condition through many spoil board changes.

How are you all securing the spoil boards to the table surface?

I am thinking about installing threaded inserts into the 3/4" MDF table top. I am worried that the threaded inserts will cause the MDF to bubble up around the insert. Any suggestions for this? Maybe inserts from the bottom of thru holes?

Yes, most people will machine a hole thru the board and then counterbore the hole thru the bottom to put a threaded insert in. Check out Ben Myer’s video on how he did his.
