Touch probe issue in the X axis

Hey everyone the other day when using my touch probe it work well in the Y axis but when it was the X axis would not stop. The Z worked well. Wires look good, any suggestions?

Thank you

Touch probe is a block of aluminum. If it works in X it will work in Y. Your magnetic clip wire needs to be firmly secured to the collet, if not when the bit touches the problem block the circuit will remain open and it will keep searching for a closed circuit.

Make sure there isn’t a piece of tape preventing conductivity. Also, you can manually test the probe. On the Masso, at the top of the F1-Setup screen, the “Probe” label turns green whenever the circuit is closed.

Thank you for your reply. I took the magnetic clip off and put it back on solidly and reran it with the same issue. I thought the samething though. Does not make sense to me. I even rebooted the machine with the same issue as well.

I did not know that about the Masso F1 setup. I will check that out. Thank you for that information.

Some bits are coated with non-conductive material, except for the cutting edge. If the edge happens to face the block, it will work in that axis, but not the other. When I probe with my coated bits, I manually rotate the bit between axis probes so that the cutting edge faces the block.
