Touch probe not moving when probing X axis

Can anyone tell me what is going on here and why the machine is not moving along the x axis to probe?

Previously I have had the touch probe working and the machine will home along the x axis so don’t believe there is a mechanical issue with movement in general.

Edit: The probe seems to work if situated closer to the centre of the work area, but thinking I should be able to home anywhere in the work area?

I would suspect the set screw/grub screw in the coupler between the stepper motor and the ball screw is loose.

Would this only affect probing though? The machine will travel the full length of the x axis under manual control

From the video it appears the X value is changing yet it’s not moving so I’d suspect there is a mechanical issue somewhere.

Screws were tight :confused:
